The weight of choice

We all remember that time when we did something really silly… and then the consequence came and suddenly that big gloom hits. everything feels heavy - pressure all around - like life’s coming way too close...

Probably’s happened to me four times in my life. And I definitely don’t want to go back.

Choice

If you could put ‘choice’ on a scale, what do you think its mass will be?

Not sure?

Me too.

Nevertheless, every choice we make carries a weight that vibrates in the eternity of life.

On a day-to-day, we don’t really feel the gravity of choice.

We only really feel the heaviness of choice during our most dire moments or once the consequence arrives.

Oh, and you can’t determine the weight of your chosen choice - the conditions are predefined.

But… if we could see the weight of every choice before we took it, would we take choice more seriously?

Would Judas have still betrayed Jesus if he had knowledge of that choice’s weight? Would Samson have been recklessly playing around with Delilah if he perceived the end of that game? Would you have eaten that ice cream 4 months ago which caused a downward journey that derailed you from your target weight?

Like it or not, biologically and socially, our choices today hold generational repercussions.

Choice

Your future cries out with words from your tomorrow - today.

Align or don’t.

Your choice.

Deuteronomy 30:19 (NLT)

“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!”

note.

We may not always fully know the weight of our choices, but we can become more sensitive to them, and therefore begin to make better choices.

Isaiah 30:21 - Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.

Matthew 7:7 - Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

James 1:5 - If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him

Galatians 2:20 - I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

With God all things are possible.
